Where we are - October 9, 2020

we have had one us of the most mean-spirited and disfunctional periods in American history over the last four years - ever since a shady and incompetent New York celebrity and ersazt developer was inaugurated as US President. we are less than a month from the next presidential election. I am recording this to state what my opinions are while we are still looking forward at the potential election results. It is too easy in hindsight to reshape one's expectations to meet whatever actually occurs. Therefore I am recording this so that I have an idea of what my expectations and ideas were prior to whatever the result ends up being next month, and whatever fall out ensues after that result.it is too easy in hindsight to reshape one's expectations to meet whatever actually occurs. Therefore I am recording this so that I have an idea of what my expectations and ideas were prior to whatever the result ends up being next month, and whatever fall out ensues after that result. It appears to me that we are headed towards an epic defeat of the incumbent unprecedented since at least 1at we are headed towards an epic defeat of the incumbent - unprecedented since at least 1980. There is a huge amount of fear and anxiety in the country right now, fearing what will happen after the election. I share this fear, and worry that some of the current incumbent supporters will not except the result when he is badly defeated.there is a huge amount of fear and anxiety in the country right now, fearing what will happen after the election. I share this fear, and worry that some of the current incumbent supporters will not except the result when he is badly defeated. It seems to me however that things may not turn out as badly as we are fear. We have not yet experienced what sort of mental change occurs with the defeat. Well tthings may not turn out as badly as we are fear. We have not yet experienced what sort of mental change occurs with the defeat. While the incumbent is madly attempting to undermine the result, this will work only if the result is close. Therefore, as much as I feel right now, I am objectively anticipating less of an upheavel than others are expecting at this point. instead, I expect the incumbent to choose the carpet in anger, but be largely in effective due to the size of the victory. I also expect at this point to that election day itself will be relatively uneventful, given the amount of voting occurring ahead of time. I fear the result of the election, but I do not think it will be as chaotic as people are worrying about right now. I am writing this to determine if my expectation is valid, or the chaos that our fear truly does break out. My prediction is that the Challenger will win the election very convincing, and that both the House and Senate will have Democratic majorities in the new Congress. there will be some chaos surrounding the election, but not nearly as much as we now fear. My biggest remaining concern is whether a violent minority of the incumbents supporters will cause havoc after the election. My intuition is this will be small, but potentially bloody.
